Her first name may have been Marion, although she usually appears as Mary. In his The Memoir of James Wyld of Gilston and His Family, also of Robert Stodart of Kailzie and Ormiston Hill, Robert Stodart Wyld writes:
"My paternal grandmother was Mary Aitcheson, of Loanhead. She was somewhat delicate, and died from a rupture brought on when forcibly opening a drawer."
From the list of possible parents and dates of birth below, I think that the most likely match is John Aitchison and Janet Manylaws. There are two daughters with the same name for these parents so I presume that the earlier daughter died young.
